MODULE 3 – BILL WHAT YOU ARE WORTH AND COLLECT WHAT YOU BILL

Many accounting firms do not charge what they are worth – maybe they think the client won’t be happy and so bill less than the service is truly worth. Some firm owners bill less than they should as they think a higher bill might upset the client. Some firms have lock up (Debtors/Receivables + WIP at charge rates) in excess of 25 per cent of annual gross fees. This results in owner capital being higher than it should be. Or possibly high levels of external debt. Some firms have month end issues where there is too much month at the end of the money.
